Well, what do you know?
* The most traveled member of Class 1949 is Juanita Maliwanag Kho. I kind of think that she and her retired physician husband, Bill Kho, do not stay in their beautiful residence in Southern California more than 30 consecutive days. They are always on the go.
* Next for being on a trip very often is Senior Narciso (alias Archie) Reyes. He and his wife and dancing partner, Fely, are really living it up!
* Emma R. L. has 6 kids, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She does not think she'd live to see any great-great grandchildren (apo na sa talampakan iyon), but hey, who knows?
* At this time of the year (tax season), Ben Glorioso is busy helping people do their tax returns. Right, Ben?
* Ning (Juanita Feleo) keeps herself busy pursuing her hobbies and trying to be physically strong and fit. Did you finally take your brand new sewing machine out of the package? Biro lang!
* Is Ludy Fajutrao Florentino still practicing law? I guess, she still is. More power to you, Ludy.
* Can anyone top this? Has ten children, 23 grandchildren and 1 great grandson - that's Butch (Basilio) Moreto of Section One.
* Feb. 20th - Justice Fermin Martin, Jr. hosted a luncheon for some 24 active members of the class in Manila. Everyone was pleasantly surprised with the attendance of Rafael Honorio, section 17, currently based in LA, California. Rafael and Jose (Pepe) Abalos from the same section had a good time re-bonding!
* Per Justice F. Martin, Jr., the 2007 Class Reunion has been tentatively set.

* One more member of the class was found! Remember Visitacion Pido (Bayan)? Thanks to Archie for his tireless search. She resides in Oceanside, California. We'll just clear with her if she does not mind having her address on our site. As soon as we get that clearance, then you'd know how to reach her. Was she in section 3 or 6?
* Please send us more photos for our site. I plan on getting a domain name (you know, _____.com or _____.net) for our site next week. After that we can be accessed more easily on the web. Any suggestions? Arellanoclass49.com and what else, just in case that is no longer available. I'll keep you posted.
* Please be advised that in the process of registering our domain name and uploading our site to the www, we could experience some interruptions. We may not see our site for some 48 hours or more. Please be patient and just keep checking to see if it is back. I am aiming to keep arellanoclass49 as our domain name. I hope nobody has taken it yet.
* 3/18/07 - Hurrah, hurrah! Romy Eulogio contacted us. He promised to send us more pictures. I think they (he and Doy) are still in the Philippines. And they must be enjoying their vacation!
* 3/18/07 - Many happy returns of the day to Sir Archie (Narsing) Reyes! Today is his birthday. And if I remember right, it is also his and Fely's wedding anniversary. Happy anniversary. Here's hoping you'd have more years of happy togetherness!
* 3/31/07- Emma is in New York babysitting her youngest granddaughter and will be back in California on April 7th. So if Romy Eulogio has mailed photos for our site to Emma's physical address, they won't show up till she comes home.
Also... today I talked to Elisa Almoro on the phone. We had a nice chat. Per Elisa, she took a trip back to the Philippines last December. She met with her barkada that included Conchita Torres, Violeta Eleazar, Lourdes Yorro and Pacita Guerrero. Kumain daw sila sa labas at nagkuwentuhan nang matikabo. Napag-usapan naman daw nila ako - iyong maliit na kaibigan ni Febe (Phoebe). Sa kuwentuhan naman namin kanina ay nabanggit niya ang pagkain daw namin sa ilalim ng hagdan sa ating paaralan at pati na ang pagtambay at pagkain ng halu-halo doon sa tindahan ni Aling Munding. Imagine, mga magagandang ala-ala after more than five decades!
* 4/5/07- I (Emma) had a good phone chat with Ben Glorioso yesterday and again today. He resides in New Jersey, still drives inspite of a problem with one of his eyes. When I asked him if he had any old photo I could upload to our site, he said he was really thinking of sending me one taken in Baguio (sp ?) in an Ifugao costume - a g-string!!! Did someone yell "No, we cannot have that in our site"? Let me tell you something though, Ben was around five years old when the picture was taken. And the problem is, he cannot find the photo.
* 5/20/2007 - Well, here's newsy news! I got a copy of the Forty-Niners' newsletter. I think it is the April 2006 issue. Thanks again to Archie for sending it to me via the internet. He patiently scanned the pages for me. It is a wonderful newsletter worth sharing with everyone. I'll probably have it uploaded here by the end of this coming week. Watch for it, Fellows!
